PSA: Pivotal Tracker's Export CSV is Missing Information!
As many of you know, Pivotal Tracker is finally shutting down on April 30th, 2025. If you thought you had backed up all your projects' information by exporting to CSV, I have some bad news for you: Pivotal's Export CSV is missing a lot of information.
The good news is that we built BARD Tracker to import Pivotal Projects over their API, so we can guarantee that all of your projects and data are safe with us. We are the only Pivotal Tracker successor that does this, as far as we know. We also export to that same flawed Pivotal CSV format, so you're not locked in with us, and can still export from us to other successors if you wish.
So what exactly is missing from Pivotal's CSV export, you ask? Here's what we've noticed so far:
MISSING IN CSV:
Which attachments go with which commentsMISSING IN CSV:
Member details (email address, username, role)MISSING IN CSV:
Integrations and their settings (GitHub, Jenkins, etc)MISSING IN CSV:
Comment ReactionsMISSING IN CSV:
Project settings (start date, points scale, time zone, etc)MISSING IN CSV:
Project profileMISSING IN CSV:
Description templatesMISSING IN CSV:
Custom review types
So after April 30th, all that information will be lost forever, unless you import with BARD Tracker!
It's free until you invite your second member, so you can import your projects for safekeeping without paying a dime, and see how it all works before you pay anything.
